The very beginning of the semester, I attended the international game night and student welcome event. It was a last minute decision between my friends and me, and it ended up being a really fun time. We got there a little late, so it felt a bit awkward; it wasn’t until that feeling was over in three seconds, when some international students approached us. I met some people from Mexico, India, Ireland, and Iran. I got to give some direction and information about some Persian events and organizations to the individual I met from Iran, which ended up being useful to him. The rest of the night was spent mingling and popping in and out of games. It was really entertaining to watch the international students play charades, being that different cultures have different interpretations of symbols.
